The Kasjack token is a tribute to the iconic Wojak crypto memes, capturing the essence of the everyday trader who experiences the highs and lows of crypto trading. Think of Kasjack as the evolution of Wojak, brought into the Kaspa ecosystem with enhanced technology. Styled in Kaspa blue, Kasjack has already made its mark, hosting live sessions on X.com (formerly Twitter) with notable KRC20 projects like NACHO (check out our interview, A Nacho Kat Interview, for more). In addition to engaging live events, Kasjack has launched token giveaways and secured exchange listings, building excitement within the Kaspa meme coin community.
The Beginning
How did the $KASJAK token come about? Who is JAK, and what does he represent for crypto, the world, and Kaspa?
In 2009, the Internet's collective mind created Wojak: simple drawings that serve as a pictographic language almost universally understood by Internet users.
The original Wojak was a drawing of a bald, nondescript person who was intentionally neutral. In its early days, it was often used to say, "I can relate to you."
It quickly became popular, and a range of characters emerged.
CRYING WOJAK: A crying Wojak symbolizes someone who has not achieved what he wanted.
NPC: It represents someone who can't think for himself.
SOYJACK: A beta male.
CHAD: Represents a very attractive man who would be the opposite of a "beta male."
BIG BRAIN: Often used ironically to mock people who are considered pseudo-intellectual.
TRADE WIFE: Representing a woman who follows traditional gender roles.
MASKS: You are angry, but pretend you are not.
PINK WOJAK: Used when the market is down,
and a wide range of other characters. KASJAK is just the representation of all this humor transferred to the Krc20 network.
If KASJAK had a core philosophy, what would it be?
Humorously represent the crypto market's current trends and sentiments while supporting and giving voice to the entire burgeoning Krc20 and Kaspa ecosystem.
How did you find out about Kaspa?
In 2022, a developer friend of mine told me about a project that had been in development for ten years and that, in his words, would bring back Satoshi Nakamoto's initial vision. Honestly, at the time, I didn't believe it until I came across enough information. Kaspa really comes to fulfill that role.
Ethereum and Solana have been the most popular chains for meme coin creation due to their proof-of-stake chains holding massive idle liquidity, aka TVL. What made you decide to launch a meme coin on Kaspa?
We bet on KRC20 because we defend Kaspa's vision. We are motivated by the great meme communities formed in ETH and SOL, and we hope the same for KRC20.
About Kasjak
How important is transparency to you and your project?
Transparency is paramount; Kasjak is now a project run and supported by community members, and all decisions and moves we make are clearly visible to the community.
Have you been burned before in crypto projects that have not been so transparent?
Of course, and it's frustrating when it happens. That's why we aim to set a better example. Thankfully, the communities built around KRC20 projects are doing an amazing job of staying transparent.
Your site states that Kasjak is a community-led project. Please tell us more about how the community has influenced this project.
One of the developers recently launched the project and "abandoned" it after a few weeks. Community fans and other developers joined us, and we formed a new team because we strongly believe that Kasjak can bring that humorous spark to the ecosystem. The community is the generating force and the basis of the project.
What has surprised you most about the response to your project so far?
What surprised me the most was the genuine, selfless support from people helping to push the project forward. It's amazing to see how much people actually enjoy and laugh at the KasJak memes—it's been incredible to watch the community really connect with them.
What was the difficult task of starting a meme coin?
The hardest part of starting a meme coin is earning trust and credibility in a market that's often seen as speculative. It's all about finding the right balance between keeping it fun and meme-worthy and building something solid with real value. Staying consistent and standing out from the crowd is also a big challenge, which makes it such an exciting and rewarding journey.
What’s your long-term vision for Kasjak and its community?
Continue bringing humor to the ecosystem and expanding the vision of KRC20 and Kappa. Also, bring Kasjak to more exchanges and dex so that users of other networks and ecosystems can access it and know about everything brewing in KRC20.
Token Launch
How did you decide to issue a fair launch token? What's your take on tokens that aren't fairly launched - i.e., with allocations, pre-sales, funding, etc.?
We thought it was the right way; no one on the team is a big holder, and we are on par with the rest of the community. However, in the end, each team and project decides how to run it and the size of their allocations; it's a matter of focus.
How long did it take to gain a following?
We have been gaining followers since launch day because of the growing demand for KRC20 tokens, but our goal is to maintain and build a strong community for the long term.
What sort of utility do you expect for Kasjak in the future?
Kasjak is currently focused on providing humor, support, and exposure to the rest of the projects generated in the KRC20 ecosystem. However, creating utility and applications is an option that we will surely consider in the future.
KRC20 Collaboration
Who have you collaborated with so far? What did the collaborations consist of?
Qeqe, Keke, Kabal. We have also provided support and exposure to other utility projects in development.
Did you receive any advice from the other KRC20 projects that helped shape Kasjak into what it is today?
Yes, several teams reached out and shared their opinions; we are grateful and all in the same boat.
You are currently raising funds to list $Kasjak on a centralized exchange. What key benefits do you anticipate from a centralized exchange listing?
Getting $KasJak listed on a centralized exchange will increase its exposure and make it easier for more users to get involved as the ecosystem continues to grow and shape.
Sign-Off
How do you feel that the success of several fair-launch projects is changing the crypto landscape?
They are paving the way and generating a fun cultural movement around crypto, which will undoubtedly encourage many more people to expand and use cryptocurrencies.
How are meme coins changing the Kaspa ecosystem?
They enrich the ecosystem, many projects bring utility, and many others bring humor. Memes are the salt and pepper of Kaspa.
