The Kaspy token (KASPY) is a meme-based cryptocurrency inspired by the story of a three-legged cat who indirectly became the star of the project. Originating from an encounter where the token's creator had to sell his KASPA holdings to cover a rescued cat's medical expenses, Kaspy transforms this unique story into a lighthearted crypto venture. Kaspy offers a fair launch, community engagement through meme generation, and playful games like Kaspy Run and Flappy Kaspy. They are even creating a special cat food, have plans to work with animal charities, and are working on Kaspy cartoons. 

We spoke to the founder, Kaspy Kaptain, covering details about Kaspy the real cat, future project plans, and the vision of KRC20s. Please see the interview below. 

The Beginning

How did the $Kaspy token come about? Can you please tell our readers the story of the real Kaspy? 

It all started in 2022 when I saved Kaspy's life after she was hit by a car. I found her while driving to the airport, and I ended up canceling my vacation with friends to take her to the vet and begin her recovery. The craziest part is that I had to sell around 6 million KAS tokens to cover her vet bills, which would be worth a lot today. This is why I called her Kaspy. But I have no regrets, of course... she's alive, and if I could save a life with money, I'd do it again and again. I'm so glad I made that choice, especially now, seeing this amazing community that has come together around her story. It's incredible how many people resonate with it! 

How old is the real Kaspy? What are her favorites and things to do? Does she have any unique, maybe silly traits? 

Kaspy is around four years old now. When I rescued her in 2022, the vet estimated her age to be about one year. 

She absolutely loves her blanket. I've bought her many toys, but nothing catches her attention quite like her blanket. She also loves climbing trees and is incredibly good at it, even with only three legs. No other cats or dogs can catch her when she's up in a tree! There have been plenty of funny moments at the park when other animals tried to chase her, but they never stood a chance. We've captured some of these moments on her GoPro, which we attach to her neck to record her adventures outside. 

This KRC20 token stands out as one of the most uplifting projects, proving that good deeds are often rewarded. How do you plan to give back to the community? 

When I launched the token, I wasn't thinking about making people millionaires. My focus was on my story and the act of saving a life, no matter the cost. I envisioned the KASPY token as a symbol of this act, a symbol of love and compassion. The goal was to inspire people to help each other, not only people but animals and everything around us. The community grew incredibly fast, and together, we're working to make Kaspy the most popular meme so we can inspire people globally.

We're working on Kaspy cartoons and even a cat food brand inspired by our story. Our TikTok channel is also doing great, with over 500K views on our videos with Kaspy, setting her up to become a superstar. I also minted some tokens at the start, and occasionally, I rewarded our community for their amazing work spreading the Kaspy story and creating animations and designs featuring her. It's our way of giving back and showing gratitude for all their support. . 

How did you find out about Kaspa? 

I learned about Kaspa from a housemate in London while working as a chef. He was deeply involved in the crypto space and helped me get started with mining and purchasing Kaspa in 2022.

Ethereum and Solana have been the most popular chains for meme coin creation due to their proof-of-stake chains holding massive idle liquidity, aka TVL. What made you decide to launch a meme coin on Kaspa? 

Choosing Kaspa was an easy decision for me. I don't think I could've created this meme on any other chain because the story is rooted in Kaspa. In 2022, I had to sell around 6 million KAS to cover my cat's vet bills, which led to the creation of Kaspy. So, launching on Kaspa felt like a natural fit and gave the project a meaningful connection to the chain.

About Kaspy

How important is transparency to you and your project?

Transparency is everything to us. Kaspy is all about an inspiring story, not just aiming for x100 gains overnight. Regardless of market trends, Kaspy's story will continue to spread through Kaspy Cartoons and other ways. We naturally operate with full transparency because we have nothing to hide. For instance, I was initially scammed by a third-party agency when trying to list Kaspy on MEXC. I'm still learning my way around the crypto space, so I made mistakes at the start. Instead of hiding it, I told the community exactly what happened and covered the loss myself, paying the listing fee to get Kaspy on MEXC. I believe that being transparent builds trust and love within our community. 

Have you been burned before in crypto projects that have not been so transparent?

Hmmm, not really, as I haven't been heavily involved in the crypto space before. I only made a few profitable investments, thanks to the guidance of a friend who's a crypto investor. He'd advise me on what to buy and when, so I haven't experienced any major setbacks. 

Your site states that Kaspy is a community-led project. Please tell us more about how the community has influenced this project. 

Oh, yeah. The Kaspy community grew incredibly fast; I didn't expect it, to be honest. My Telegram DMs went wild after we posted our story on X. We reached full mint in just three days! So many dedicated individuals are involved with Kaspy who help with decisions, funding, marketing, design, and more. It's not just about the size of the community but the quality of the people. Kaspy's story attracts kind-hearted people who want to spread love and resonate with the act of saving a life. Our community truly feels like a family, and we're excited to plan some meetups soon, bringing the real Kaspy kitty to our first party, haha! 

What's your long-term vision for Kaspy and its community?

It may sound crazy, but my long-term vision is to see Kaspy on Netflix. Many of us believe Kaspy can easily become the most popular meme in the crypto space. We're taking small and consistent steps every day, and I'm confident that one day Kaspy's story will reach that level, even if not on Netflix specifically, as we never know what platforms will be around in the future. What we do know for sure is that Kaspy will remain here, inspiring people for generations to come.   

You are one of the few meme token projects with multiple online games. Do you plan to expand more in the gaming sector? Moreover, why was it important to provide KASPY with gaming utility? 

Our games are all about fun and entertainment. For instance, in one game, Kaspy has to dodge cars while being fed to grow her market cap. It's just meant to entertain. And yes, we plan to expand in the gaming sector and perhaps create our own game inspired by Kaspy's story. We have big plans and a lot of support from people who are helping us achieve them. Our goal is to make Kaspy easily recognizable worldwide through different, engaging experiences. 

Token Launch

How did you decide to issue a fair launch token? What's your take on tokens that aren't fairly launched - i.e., with allocations, pre-sales, funding, etc.? 

I would never consider launching a token that isn't fair. Especially with a meme token, launching fairly is essential to avoid any suspicion around the project. Honestly, why would anyone launch a meme token without a 100% fair launch? The meme space is full of copied cartoon characters with no originality or story behind them. We're different...we have a real story to tell, with a real, living kitty who's the hero and an inspiration to everyone. That's why I chose a fair launch for Kaspy: because Kaspy is all about authenticity and fairness. 

At the time of this interview, Kaspy has theme songs and memes, roughly 3,000 followers on X, 500K views on TikTok, and a $20M market cap. Did you ever imagine that this project would gain so much traction?

I didn't expect this level of growth so quickly. I always believed Kaspy could become huge, but not this fast. I didn't invest any money in marketing or promotion; it all started with our very first post on X when we only had six followers. From there, the story just took off, and we exploded in popularity. 

With your token now available on multiple exchanges, how has this expanded accessibility impacted your project?

Each new listing has brought us strong and stable trading volume, and our holder count continues to grow daily. Our volume is 100% organic; we don’t use artificial volume or market makers, so people can see that everything is genuinely stable and organic. We’re aiming only for Tier 1 exchanges, so the next step in listings will be huge for Kaspy.

Collaborations

What sorts of partnerships and collaborations are you currently pursuing?

We don't currently have any partnerships with other KRC20 or meme projects, as we're cautious about protecting our reputation. In the crypto space, you never know others' intentions, and we don't want to risk being associated with any potential rug pull. So, we prefer to grow independently for now. One day, when Kaspy becomes even more popular, we can look into a partnership with Doge. Haha. Who knows? 

Can you tell us about the Kaspy cat food you are working on? How did that come about?

I have a friend who's a vet in Romania, and while talking about Kaspy, I had the idea: 'What if we created a cat food brand inspired by Kaspy's story, with her logo on it and the story to inspire everyone?' We both got really excited about it, so now we're making it happen! He's helping me with the recipes and other details, as he's a professional, so that we can make high-quality food for our cats. 

Did you receive any advice from the other KRC20 projects that helped shape Kaspy into what it is today?

Absolutely! Many community members help us daily, and I never make big decisions alone. We always decide together on Kaspy's next steps.

The success of several fair-launch projects is definitely having a positive impact on the crypto landscape. By creating equal opportunities for all participants, these projects are building a more transparent environment. This approach attracts a wider audience who may have been wary of insider advantages in traditional launches. It's encouraging to see more projects embracing fairness, as it fosters trust and aligns with the decentralized ideals that crypto was built on. Overall, I think it's helping to restore confidence and could lead to more sustainable, community-driven growth in the industry.

How are meme coins changing the Kaspa ecosystem?

We can see that meme coins are something people want and enjoy getting involved in. They are fun and entertaining and offer a unique experience where you can make some profit while being entertained and connecting with new people. Participating in these projects makes people feel they can contribute to a meme coin's growth. It's exciting, and with KRC20 on Kaspa, this will undoubtedly bring a lot of users into the Kaspa ecosystem. I expect a huge wave of adoption shortly, as I believe meme coin holders from Ethereum and Solana will join KRC20 sooner or later.
