It's a thrilling phase in the Kaspa universe, marked by the Rust migration and the birth of Kasplex; it is the time in its life cycle when project teams are looking to build their projects on Kasplex. Projects range from more serious projects, like mental health applications, to meme coin projects and everything in between. This article series will highlight these projects being built on Kasplex. 

KRC 20 and Inscription projects overview (they are mostly meme coins right now). 

Nacho The Cat

A fun project is being built on Kasplex to celebrate Kaspa Developer Shai Wyborski's cat, Nacho the Kat, also known as Nacho Wyborski. The token has the reserved ticker $NACHO and was launched when KRC20 tokens went live on Kasplex.  

Token Launch

The Nacho Wyborski project is committed to a fair launch, with a fixed maximum supply of 287B NACHO tokens. There will be no pre-sale or reserved tokens, ensuring no preferential treatment in the launch. The tokenomics are fixed and cannot change after the initial launch, as per the project whitepaper. Once the KRC20 standard goes live on Kaspa, it is expected that all Kaspa wallet providers will update their software, but as of June 25, 2024, the recommended wallet is the KasWare Wallet. As of publication, users are allowed to mint in batches of up to 29,700 NACHO tokens at a time.  

Community

The NACHO community has a vibrant X (Twitter) account with 6,200 followers and has already participated in multiple live streams on the platform. On June 19, 2024, NACHO was voted the favorite Kaspa Memecoin in a Twitter poll with 39.3% of the 987 votes. The project also runs a Discord channel and Telegram group. 

Even though the Twitter account has only been active for one month, users can already purchase official NACHO merchandise, including T-shirts, hats, and mugs. The items can be purchased via $KAS, and all proceeds from the merchandise go to support the project. 

Kasper, The Ghost of Kaspa

A friendly project that has gained traction on X (Twitter) is Kasper Coin (KASPER), the Ghost of Kaspa, with over 7,400 followers as of June 25, 2024. The Kasper project has one of the largest and most interactive social media presence of the KRC20 projects. In addition to creating great visuals and memes, they have hosted multiple AMAs, collaborated on others' live streams, offered several $KAS giveaways, and hosted a Crypto Quiz night. Additionally, KASPER came in as the number one KRC20 project, as crypto market analyst Phil Prince reported in his KRC20 ranking video. 

Token

The KASPER token was launched shortly after KRC20 tokens went live on the Kasplex mainnet on June 30, 2024. Only 1,000,000 mints are available, each allowing for 28,700 KASPER tokens per 1 KAS, resulting in a total maximum supply of 28,700,000,000 $KASPER. The token will host a fair launch with no pre-sales or token reserves, ensuring everyone has an equal chance to mint KASPER. 

Community 

On June 19, 2024, the project reached 500,000 impressions on X (Twitter). The project is focused on working decentralized, even letting the community vote for the official token design and team members. In addition to having an active presence on X (Twitter), the team also has a Discord channel with over 2,400 members and a Telegram presence with over 600 members. 

KasPaw

Another meme coin KRC20 project with adorable artwork and a pawsome community is KasPaw. According to its whitepaper, KasPaw's mission is "to bring greater attention to the Kaspa network." It also notes that its project operates as a BlockDA(W)G, a fun play on the BlockDAG infrastructure. Interestingly, the KasPaw mascot has a silver coat inspired by Kaspa's Aramaic meaning of silver. 

Token Launch

The KasPaw project will launch fairly, with no pre-allocations, pre-sale, or team allocations. After the launch, no new tokens will be created, and users can participate in a liquidity pool. There will be a maximum total supply of 1,121,000,000 KPAW tokens, with the number inspired by Kaspa’s launch date of 11/21. Tokens will be minted at 2,000 KPAW per 1 $KAS. No limit exists to how many KPAW tokens a user can mint. Users will only pay the Kaspa network fees to mint —there will be no additional fees or taxes. According to posts on X, the launch is expected on June 30, 2024, when the KRC20 feature goes live on the Kasplex. 

Community

The KasPaw community is active on social media, with a presence on X (Twitter) of 3,286 followers as of June 27, 2024. They also run a Discord community with 835 users and a Telegram channel with 300 members. 

Kaspa Cats

One of the earliest projects to start working on a KRC20 token is Kaspa Cats, which began their project in September of 2023. There was some downtime to the account, but it was revitalized after Kaspa announced KRC20 integration. The team plans to use its currency, $KCATS, and future NFTS to create abn interactive fight game. The team emphasizes the security of their ecosystem, touting their audited code, audited website and fully doxxed team, with links to their LinkedIn pages. 

Token

Kaspa Cats uses the ticker $KCATS. The project had an auto-minting initiative where users could automatically add their wallet addresses to mint tokens. The maximum supply is capped at 100 billion KCATS tokens, with 1.7 million mints available. According to X, at least 21% of the token supply has been allocated to automatic minting. The remaining tokens must be manually minted in the KasWare wallet on June 30, 2024, when the KRC20 token feature goes live on Kasplex. Users can mint tokens at a rate of 1 KAS to 50,000 KCATS tokens. The whitepaper was released on June 16, 2024. The token is designed to work in-game with an automatic liquidity-generating protocol.  

Game

After the release of the KCATS token, the team will create KCATS NFTs, which will be characters in their Kaspa Cats PVP fighting game, Ultimate Cat Fighting Championship NFT. The game will have a version on its website for easy user access. There will be 10,000 100% transferable cat NFTs available. 10% of all KCATS NFTS will be put towards the champion's purse so that the winner of the game will win a bounty. In the game, users will buy into competition play, where 20% of their buy-in will go to a burning wallet, with the remaining 80% going to the game-winner.

Community

Since Kaspa Cats is one of the oldest projects on this list, it is no surprise that it has one of the largest communities, with 5,121 X (Twitter) followers as of June 27, 2024. They also have a Discord channel with 220 members and a Telegram group with 500 members. The project has recently been active with token giveaways via its X account. Also, the project has an informative blog with posts about all things Kaspa. 

Kastor Coin

The Kastor Coin project has one of the most elaborate websites and backstories of the KRC20 meme coin projects. The project is inspired by the "mythical hero," a squirrel named Kastor. He wears a rust-colored cape in honor of Rusty Kaspa and protects the forest with his best friend, Kaspa developer Michael Sutton. 

Token

According to the whitepaper, the token's main purpose is to bolster and support the Kaspa network. Therefore, as of this writing, there is no utility to the token outside of trading on exchanges. The results of a Discord poll show that the community wants the token to be 100% community-driven, so there is no limit to where the token may go in the future. According to the project's Discord, the token will launch on June 30, 2024, around 10:00 AM EDT. 

Community 

The Kastor Coin project has over 2,000 followers on X (Twitter) and posts videos on its community's YouTube channel. Additionally, it runs a Discord server with over 500 members and a Telegram channel with 400 subscribers. On June 13, 2024, the team applied for listing on the MEXC exchange. 

Ghoad

The Ghoad Coin project is a KRC20 memecoin project based on a ghost toad. The Ghoad concept is derived from combining "Ghost" from GhostDAG and "Toad" from the turquoise color of Kaspa. Grok's artificial intelligence generated Ghoad's personality, creating his image using Midjourney. The project also used Grok to assist in writing the whitepaper and to determine the optimal tokenomics and supply. Ghoad's founder is HunterVTreasure on X (Twitter) and regularly tweets about Ghoad, Kaspa, meme coins, and GameStop. 

Token

The $GHOAD token has a total supply of 4 billion tokens, divisible to 18 decimals, and allocating 10% (400M) to the GHOAD funding wallet (3% for development, 7% for marketing), 30% (1.2B) to the public mint, and 60% (2.4B) to OTC, MT, DEX, and CEX. The token will act as a governance token, allowing the community to vote on issues to drive the project.    

The public mint will take place soon after Kasplex launches on June 30, 2024. Per instructions on their X (Twitter) account, users can purchase the token via the KasWare Wallet. An OTC platform has been established in the project’sDiscord, where users can swap tokens with each other. This feature will go live with the token launch. There was some speculation that the team has a pre-allocation, but they have denied this, emphasizing that team members will have to mint tokens, like all other community members. 

Community

The Ghoad community has been active on X (Twitter) in anticipation of the KRC20 token launch on Kaspa. Users can purchase Ghoad-themed merchandise, including mugs, stickers, hoodies, and T-shirts, to support the project. On June 13, 2024, the Ghoad team announced listing approval on MEXC—this would make them the first KRC20 project to be listed on a centralized exchange (CEX). Additionally, the team claims to have applied for a listing on Coinmarketcap. 

BetterTherapy

A project built on Kaspa in the pre-launch phase is building what they hope will become the "most affordable mental healthcare" solution utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to assist patients. It came about due to the increased need for mental health support and the high costs of therapy sessions. It differentiates itself from current therapy apps due to its more secure platform, built on Kaspa, and the personalized responses due to the superior AI. Kaspa allows the platform to utilize very low transaction fees, roughly $0.003 / transaction, as of June 25, 2024. The network also ensures that transactions are safe, utilizing IPFS to secure personal data. 

The BetterTherapy docs explain that the population segment aged 14-24 is experiencing the highest increase in mental health issues. It shows that this age group is also the group most comfortable with using digital applications, with 84% of US teens using the Instagram app at least once a week. 

Features

Community

The project is made possible through interactions between users, mental health experts, AI models, and community leaders. Mental health experts can meet with users via phone, video call, email, etc. The AI models will answer basic, introductory questions from users and provide "initial emotional support" to users. Lastly, volunteer community leaders will share stories and encourage users. They will also host online events to share anecdotes and resources about mental health. BetterTherapy currently boasts 1,128 X (Twitter) followers as of June 25, 2024. They also have a telegram group with roughly 800 users. 

Risks

This project was included in this list, as it is one of the first projects that we found building on Kaspa. We found that the founding team remains anonymous. At the time of this publication, several of the links on the website do not click through to anything. Please do your own research when investing in projects.

FUSUN

The Fusun project is working to utilize the Kaspa ecosystem to tokenize real-world assets (RWA) energy trading on decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) grids. They are looking to solve the problems of energy poverty and security and help decrease the resilience of fossil fuels and nuclear power. The Swiss team plans to create microgrids to trade peer-to-peer sustainable energy. Some green energy techniques include "advancing electrolysis, green hydrogen, storage, production, renewable energy integration, and research." This project has the most comprehensive whitepaper, at 90 pages long, describing their plan to provide their "energy-as-a-service" model. 

Token

The utility token will have three main uses- 1) to trade RWAs, 2) to provide decentralized governance, and 3) to manage the electricity microgrids. The token will have a built-in buyback and burn strategy to ensure the scarcity of the asset and provide price support. The tokens will be distributed as follows:

• 35% to the Community and ecosystem

• 14% to Fusun labs

• 18% to the team

• 19% to the public sale

• 6% to rewards

• 5% to liquidity

• 3% to advisors

Team, Fusun labs, and advisor tokens maintain a four-year vesting schedule.

Community

The team has an active Discord with 174 followers and a Telegram channel with 142 members. The project also has a LinkedIn page with a fully doxxed team. The team posts community challenges on its Twitter page, where members can comment on their green energy stories. The team also attends events, such as Powerdays. 

Risks

This project was included in this list, as it is one of the first projects that we found building on Kaspa. The project is very much in its early stages and has set forth a lofty vision. Please do your own research when looking into projects. 

DefiPatrol

DefiPatrol is an innovative application that combines a portfolio tracker with a decentralized finance (Defi) platform. In addition to tracking a user's cryptocurrency assets across multiple platforms, there will also be a KRC20 token to provide governance voting and staking. In addition to traditional Defi features, the KRC20 token will unlock exclusive features such as portfolio themes, badges, and digital collectibles. Currently, it is under development, but users can read the published whitepaper and join the waitlist to learn when it will be launched.  

Features

DeFiPatrol plans to incorporate common features in portfolio trackers and Defi platforms. It plans to provide users with advanced analytics and comprehensive reports related to their tokens and NFTs connected to the platform. Additionally, it plans to incorporate Kaspa NFTs by minting, managing, and tracking them via its platform. Lastly, the platform aims to monitor users' assets across multiple platforms. 

KRC20 token

The DeFiPatrol token was/is created to foster the community through providing governance voting and staking to users. The token is a utility token with many use cases. The token allows users to participate in governance voting to influence the platform's future in a decentralized way. The token will also cover platform fees, including premium features and services. Lastly, the token will provide platform incentives, such as staking fees. There is a total supply of two billion tokens, allocated as follows: 

• 30% to Community Rewards and Airdrops

• 25% to Development and Operations (includes team compensation)

• 20% to the Liquidity Pool to ensure liquidity on decentralized exchanges (DEXs)

• 15% to Marketing and Partnerships

• 10% to a Reserve Fund

At launch, 15% of the total supply will be distributed. A twenty-four-month vesting period exists for team development and reserve funds to ensure long-term alignment with the project. Over the remaining thirty-six months, tokens will be released monthly as community rewards, airdrops, and marketing allocations. 

NFTs

Additionally, users who own DeFiProtocol non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will have access to additional exclusive membership benefits, such as early access to platform features. The company is developing the DeFiPatrol NFT collection, which includes varieties of DeFiPatrol logos with unique personalities. Some personalities include "NFT Ninja," an NFT expert, and "Crypto Dabbler." A sample collection is available to view on OpenSea.

The project is very much in its early stages, with only two posts and seven followers on X (Twitter). Another risk we found is that the founding team remains anonymous.
