Over the weekend, many of us celebrated Canada Day and the Fourth of July—two holidays that honor the ideals of independence and sovereignty. These same principles are at the very heart of the cypherpunk movement and the broader crypto revolution: the pursuit of freedom, self-sovereignty, and the ability to transact without reliance on centralized authorities.
As highlighted in our article, Kaspa’s Third Anniversary, the dream of a decentralized, stateless, and permissionless form of money has been a decades-long journey championed by cypherpunks who merged cryptography, distributed systems, and Austrian economic theory to fight back against the limitations of the fiat system. Their vision was clear: to create hard, digital money that is accessible to all, not just the privileged few.
Kaspa stands as a modern realization of these ideals—fair-launched, decentralized, and built to solve the blockchain trilemma and the money trilemma. As we mark both of these national milestones, it’s a fitting moment to reflect on how the spirit of independence continues to inspire innovation and community in our ecosystem.

Participants enjoyed engaging speaker sessions, interactive games, networking opportunities, KAS and USDT giveaways, and exclusive merch—all designed to spark interest and understanding of the Kaspa ecosystem. The energy was electric, and the turnout reflected the growing excitement for Kaspa across Nigeria.
A huge shoutout goes to the event’s host, @0x_ObinnaNwafor, and co-host, @Kamtochukwu0, for organizing such a well-executed and impactful experience. Their dedication to grassroots blockchain education has significantly advanced adoption.
Following the success of the UNN event, the Kaspa Education Series now heads to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC).
This initiative is designed to introduce students, developers, and crypto newcomers to Kaspa—the fastest, most scalable proof-of-work blockchain—and to foster innovation in the broader Web3 space.
This event is supported by the Kaspa Ecosystem Foundation (KEF), TechyJaunt, Blockchain University of Nigeria, and TEH.

Kaspa for Haircuts
Oracle employee Arnon Lauden shared a heartwarming story about how he had been persistently asking his local Melbourne barber, Roman's Barber Shop if he could pay for his haircut in KAS. After years of asking, this week, they finally said "Sure," and he was able to pay in Kaspa for the first time.

In the comments, Arnon shared another uplifting anecdote: a windsurfing instructor once told him, "All you have to do is fall off the board 300 times." He related this to Kaspa's adoption, saying, "If all of us try (and fail) to pay with Kaspa 300 times—it will be accepted." His message is a powerful reminder that persistence and community effort are key to growing real-world utility.
Thanks to Arnon for helping spread the word about Kaspa—one shop at a time! If you're in the Melbourne area, be sure to support Roman's Barber Shop and show your appreciation for a local business now accepting KAS.

Igra Labs on the XXIM Podcast
In a wide-ranging interview, Pavel and Denis from Igra Labs unpack the buzz around atomic composability—a foundational concept in blockchain that ensures multiple operations either all execute together, or none do at all, in other words, "all or nothing." Once inherent to Ethereum's early architecture, atomic composability has become harder to achieve in the fragmented world of rollups and Layer 2s. The Igra team explains why synchronous, atomic composability is considered the "holy grail" of blockchain scalability and interoperability—and how Kaspa's DAG-based Layer 1 offers a natural synchronization layer that could one day make this seamless cross-rollup execution a reality.
They also caution that the technical road is steep. Making multiple rollups interoperable in a truly atomic and synchronous manner requires intricate infrastructure—shared sequencers, standardized APIs, and real-time state awareness. It's not a feature arriving overnight but a long-term mission for the Kaspa ecosystem, and one Igra Labs is helping to pioneer.
The conversation then shifts to updates from Igra Labs as they prepare to launch their Caravel testnet in mid-July. The release will include a node client, a canonical L1-to-L2 bridge for KAS (iKas), a light node protocol, and early steps toward a DAO structure. Node operators will be incentivized through a staking and fee-sharing model using the IGRA token, with slashing mechanisms in place to ensure service reliability. While the bridge will initially support one-way movement (L1 to L2), future trust-minimized solutions are in discussion for full interoperability.
Pavel and Denis also highlight their strong presence at Ethereum developer events, such as EthCC and EthBelgrade—not as a distraction but as a means to cross-pollinate ideas, evangelize Kaspa's unique architecture, and attract honest scrutiny from some of the brightest minds in crypto. They emphasize the importance of cultivating a rigorous, research-driven culture within Kaspa, similar to Ethereum's intellectually vibrant ecosystem.
As the Caravel testnet nears launch, Igra Labs is collaborating with over 30 early teams that are preparing to deploy their apps on Igra. Once the testnet is live, it will provide a more robust environment for builders and communities to bring their protocols to life—and help validate whether Igra's architecture can scale to meet the vision they've laid out.
WOLFY Updates
Wolfy’s Bar, an urban lifestyle café based in London, has long been a cornerstone of the Kaspa community. As one of the first brick-and-mortar businesses to accept KAS as payment, they’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of how Web3 can integrate with real-world commerce. From hosting Kaspa meetups to producing digital content that educates and energizes the community, Wolfy’s continues to lead by example.
On July 5, 2025, the team shared an exciting update on the progress of the WOLFY coin and the WOLFPACK NFT collection—two community-driven initiatives supported by Wolfy’s Bar. WOLFY has officially become one of the aggregators for the IGRA Labs presale, which has significantly boosted the token’s visibility. As a result, WOLFY saw a 25% increase in both price and market cap.
Meanwhile, the WOLFPACK NFT collection hit new milestones, reaching all-time highs in both floor price and overall market cap. Momentum is also building toward their real-world expansion: Wolfy's franchise effort has now crossed the 150,000 USD fundraising mark, putting them 36% of the way toward opening their South African franchise location.
Congratulations to Wolfy's team for continuing to blend digital innovation with on-the-ground community building.

Kasia Updates
The Kaspa Messaging app, Kasia, has shared a few updates this week, including that they are working on applications for Android, Mac, Linux, and Windows, and that they removed a flickering effect when typing.
Kasia is a lightning-fast, peer-to-peer messaging app built directly on the Kaspa blockchain—no servers, where every message is a real on-chain transaction. With end-to-end encryption, anonymity, and no need for signups or KYC, Kasia brings uncensorable, decentralized communication to the Kaspa community.
Messages are transmitted at near-instant speeds, around 0.1 seconds per text, and cost just a fraction of a cent (~0.00001793 KAS). That means with just 10 KAS, you can send over 500,000 encrypted messages while directly supporting network miners. This is more than a messaging app—it's a glimpse into the decentralized future.
Kastle Wallet Updates
The Kastle Wallet team has released several important updates this week, strengthening its role as a core tool in the Kaspa ecosystem.
The closed beta for Android is now live. Early testers who submitted their emails should have received access. This build includes a new PIN code fallback system and full support for KRC20 tokens, KNS domains, and NFTs. A public beta is expected by the end of the week. The iOS TestFlight version is also up to date with these features.
Kastle is now integrated with KaspaCom, allowing users to trade KRC20 tokens, NFTs, and KNS domains directly from the wallet. This adds convenience and expands functionality for users engaging with Kaspa-native assets.
Version 2.25.0 was also launched, bringing smoother EVM integration and UI improvements. Users can now send EVM tokens on Kaspa Layer-2s, view the origin network for each asset, and copy EVM addresses more easily. NFTs without traits are displayed more cleanly, and various UI fixes enhance the overall experience.
The latest version is available via the Chrome Web Store: Kastle Wallet on Chrome. These updates continue to push Kastle forward as a fast, secure, and intuitive option for Kaspa users.
Kaspa’s First Mixer
In a new episode of the XXIM Podcast, host Ankit sits down with JD from Kaspa Funding (@FundingKaspa) to discuss Kaspa's first-ever coin mixer—a privacy-enhancing tool built by and for the community. Designed to obscure the on-chain link between sender and recipient, Kaspa's mixer project is evolving rapidly, with multiple versions already in development, including the original mixer and the more advanced KasJoin.
JD also shares the story behind the Kaspa Community Center in Liverpool, New York—a grassroots initiative that is entirely funded by the community. The space, located at 4225 Longbranch Rd, is open to all Kaspa supporters and features couches, computers, screens, merchandise, and the capacity to host events and showcase mining rigs.
Built with decentralization at its core, this mixer project reflects the broader ethos of the KaspaFunding initiative: creating real-world tools and experiences that empower users and deepen community engagement. As JD stated, "The whole point of crypto, in general, was freedom."
