As part of our ongoing series highlighting prominent crypto media channels that regularly spotlight Kaspa, we turn the spotlight to Sin City Crypto. This platform has published over 1,500 videos and boasts roughly 89,000 subscribers on its public YouTube channel. Based in Las Vegas, NV, Sin City Crypto is renowned for its entertaining yet educational content.
Beginning in September 2021, Sin City Crypto was the brainchild of on-air hosts Robin, “Big Rob,” and David, with Rocco serving as an integral member behind the scenes. Together, they’ve crafted a professional, network-worthy show that delivers the latest cryptocurrency news. Rob, with his experience in the fast-paced culinary industry; David, whose passion for finance and expertise in options trading and economics shines through; and Rocco, who brings his love for music production and design, seamlessly blends their diverse talents to produce a truly unique show.
The team self-funded the project with earnings from crypto investments and their work in the Las Vegas restaurant scene. David and Rob invested 150k USD each to build a studio accommodating multiple guests, offering viewers a dynamic and engaging perspective with direct insights from crypto experts.
While Sin City Crypto covers many tokens and market trends, it frequently deep-dives into Kaspa. Kaspa enthusiasts can check out the Sin City Crypto Kaspa playlist, featuring roughly thirty dedicated videos. Also, be sure to search for more Kaspa-related content on their channels, as there are some silver-rated interviews with noteworthy Kaspians, such as Wolfie, Luke, Rhubarian, and core developer Shai Wybrski.
We are pleased to introduce you to the Sin City Crypto team and share this exclusive KASmedia interview.

The Beginning of the Channel
How did you meet and decide to work together to create Sin City Crypto? Was it just David and Big Rob in the early days, and when did Rocco join the team? Fast forward to today, how many people are working for the company?
Rob and I met and started working together at the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in Las Vegas. We were always the “crypto guys.” We created a group text with some other crypto enthusiasts at work and would always find ourselves arguing. One night, Rob called me asking if I wanted to start a YouTube channel about crypto. The rest is history.
Rob and I founded the company, and Rocco joined us just a few months later. Rob met Rocco at a meetup here in town. Funny story- Rocco was one of the first five people in our live show chat when we started. We brought him in to run our production, and he has been with us ever since, overseeing everything behind the scenes.
We currently have a team of six working at Sin City Studios, with Rob and me included.
In a 2022 interview, David mentioned that Las Vegas's status inspired the Sin City Crypto name as the entertainment capital and that the channel's mantra is "entertainment education—or edutainment." Could you share more about how this concept influences the channel's content and approach?
We saw a lack of entertainment and excitement with content in the crypto space. The quality channels were boring and stale, and the entertaining channels were extremely low quality. Combining the two, high-level production with fun and entertainment, was a no-brainer. Sin City is the world's entertainment capital, and it was a no-brainer for us.
With endless opportunities in crypto and Web3—like blockchain-based music licensing or even a food-related coin that aligns more with your professional background—what made you focus on crypto news instead?
We didn't enter crypto to make quick cash or extract value. From the beginning, we decided to create a multi-million-dollar media company on Web3, focusing on education and entertainment. We entered this space with zero knowledge or experience of audio, video, podcasting, or anything related, but we knew that with repetition and consistency, we would become experts.
In an older video, you mentioned that you were "lifelong YouTube friends." Did you work on YouTube channels before? Or do you currently have other YouTube channels? If so, would you like to share them with our readers?
This comment was made in jest. We didn't start our business as friends but as associates. We've become friends through the journey, but we always put business first!
Did you have a social media presence before Sin City Crypto?
ZERO. We built everything from scratch.
Without a video or audio production background, how did you create such an impressive studio and high-quality channel production from the start?
We used the same methodical approach to understand the confusing intricacies of crypto and applied that to audio and video production. Through YouTube videos, studio tours, and networking with industry professionals, we studied high-level audio/visual setups operated by experienced individuals in video production. We started small and expanded piece by piece and through costly trial and error to see what equipment would serve our needs.
Crypto in General
How and when did you first get into crypto, and when did you realize it could become a full-time career?
I got into crypto towards the end of 2016. I threw like $200 into Bitcoin for fun. When Bitcoin ran to 20k in 2017, I was hooked. When the bear market of 2018 came around, I really buckled down and dove into blockchain tech and what it could do for finance. My dad always taught me to think 10 steps ahead and anticipate in business. I never knew where I could fit in, though- I had no technical or marketing skills, nothing that could translate. So when Rob called me about YouTube, my immediate reaction was, "Yeah, I don't think so." It took 24 hours for me to realize that if I'm ever going to move into space, it's now. The rest is history.
What are some of the most surprising or outrageous things you've encountered in the crypto space? What stands out as the most exciting and, conversely, the most disappointing?
It amazes me that people like Kyle Davies and su zhu from 3 arrows capital completely screwed people over and came back to crypto Twitter as if nothing happened. Outside of that situation, the most exciting thing I've participated in with crypto was the launch of the Trump coin this year. So many emotions went through me - excitement, surprise, confusion. The most disappointing was FTX. The platform was really good, and many people got absolutely wrecked.
When did you begin incorporating technical analysis (TA) into your videos, and was this primarily influenced by David's background in options trading and economics?
I fell in love with technical analysis in 2011 when I started trading stock options. Between 2015 and 2021, I stopped trading and, therefore, stopped doing TA. When we launched our channel, we made the stupid decision to be a channel that does no TA at all. About three months in, we realized that was a mistake and started diving into the charts again. There's been a heavier focus on TA on our channel over the past twelve months, and that trend will continue! We will launch a trading-only live show on the channel soon, so stay tuned!
You mentioned finding an untapped market for impressive video production in the crypto news space. What other untapped markets do you see in the crypto space?
Great question. I think digital identities are a huge opportunity in crypto—everything from streamlining healthcare access to enhancing privacy, enhancing e-commerce, and staying safe from scams. As AI grows, we will see scams get more sophisticated, and the line between humans and AI will become even more blurry. Digital IDs can fix this.
Do you think we are entering "No sleep season"? What advice can you offer our readers who have never experienced a true bull market?
What's sleep? lol. At this point in the market cycle, 70% of your allocations and portfolio management should already be in place. But you want to stay vigilant because that 30% is the difference between a 10x and a 50 or 100x. We could front-run the AI movement in crypto and help ourselves, and our community makes a lot of money because we stayed active even during the nine-month sideways price action for Bitcoin. We will continue to see new trends emerge, trends die, and better ROI opportunities as we get deeper into this cycle. My advice: continue to pay attention, but be extra vigilant during big selloffs and liquidation events - those opportunities are the ones to capitalize on!
Maintaining the Channel
Could you share some details about your channel memberships and what they offer to your community? Why did you choose to host your premium content on YouTube, as opposed to something like Patreon, or Discord, which are popular in the crypto space?
We started offering memberships as an additional revenue source. Our overhead is much higher than that of the majority of content creators in our space. Our two lower levels offer nothing really outside of custom channel emojis and supporting the channel. Our highest tier, Whales, offers a special Discord chat where we share info and alpha that we don't share during the show. Whales also get a dedicated credits page with our outro at the end of every live show.
We launched a Patreon about three weeks ago, where we are moving all of our whale alpha and trading calls. YouTube takes a 30% cut of all memberships, and Patreon is only 8%, so financially, it makes more sense. We have some exciting stuff planned for our Patreon outside of trading and alpha that we'll be rolling out here in the next few weeks!
I saw a video where David gave this advice to anyone thinking about starting a social media channel: “If it's something you're passionate about and you have a knack for teaching, speaking, or you're a people person - just buy a 50 USD webcam and 50 USD mic and just record it. Just record and make money along the way… the important thing is to just start.” Do you still feel this way? Anything else you’d like to add to our readers thinking about working professionally in media or crypto?
I definitely still hold this view. The problem that most people (myself previously) face is that they have this amazing idea but never take the first step. You're gonna suck, your video will be shit, your audio and camera will sound and look like crap, but that doesn't matter. JUST START!

Kaspa
How did you first come across Kaspa, and how long did it take before you realized it was a token you'd regularly feature on your channel?
Kaspa landed on my radar really towards the end of 2023. The price action put it on my radar, but the tech and fundamentals made me want to dive into the project and learn. We made our first Kaspa video, and it was received very well by the Kaspa community, so we continued. Plus, when we met Chad in Austin for consensus in 2024 and connected with the team, it sealed the deal for us. We wanted to be a channel that amplified all the great things the team is doing with Kaspa.
Why do you think DAGs, especially Kaspa, are such a revolutionary technology?
I don't have a tech background and won't sit here and pretend I do. The simple fact that a proof-of-work chain can scale and mine one block per second vs. one block every ten minutes, compared to Bitcoin, is enough for me to know that the tech behind Kaspa is revolutionary.
What are you most excited about as the next step for Kaspa?
I'm excited about crescendo and 10bps. That level of throughput will set Kaspa apart. I'm also excited to see how the ecosystem grows: DEXes, DeFi, tokenizing assets, and stablecoins. I love that Kaspas's price has been consolidating for the past couple of months. It's healthy and makes the next run even bigger than the first!
Thank you for highlighting the Kaspa Industrial Initiative. Which of their pilot programs are you most excited about?
Warp Core will be a game-changer for Kaspa. Payments are the holy grail when it comes to blockchain adoption. You've made it if you can get businesses and enterprises to run payments through your network. This is not to say that Kaspa hasn't made it, but the warp core will send Kaspa to a different level.
If you could develop a project on Kaspa, what would it be?
An all-in-one DEX similar to what Solana has with Jupiter but on steroids. It would have perps, spot, limit orders, cross-chain, and an AI agent framework built in. If you get something like that, you're now competing with the likes of Solana for users. It would showcase Kaspa's tech!
