Kaspador states that L2 to Launch this Month

Last week we reported that the Kasplex L2 launch was delayed, though no timeline was given. Kasplex’s Head of BD, Kaspador, has since confirmed that while the launch is delayed, it is still scheduled to happen this month, September.

New Kaspa Accepted Here

In Episode 4 of the Kaspa Accepted Here video series, presented by Kaspa Commons, host Chad Ballantyne sat down with Bjartur Rene and his longtime friend Peter from B the Barber, the premier men’s grooming spot in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. Known for sharp fades, classic tapers, and personalized consultations, B the Barber has also made history as one of the first businesses worldwide to accept Kaspa and the very first barber to do so.

Peter first introduced Bjartur to Kaspa in early 2023 after discovering it through the Facebook group Crypto Faroe. With only about 50,000 people in the entire country and roughly 500 in the group, word spread quickly. Peter originally found crypto through Captain Sats, and before long, he asked Bjartur if he could pay for a haircut in Kaspa. That simple request sparked a deeper exploration into Bitcoin, proof of work, and eventually Kaspa itself, which Bjartur says left him with “no turning back.”

Both Peter and Bjartur have inspired others to buy Kaspa. Even in the Faroe Islands’ small population, interest has grown steadily, and Kaspa has even been mentioned on local radio alongside Bitcoin. Awareness is spreading, and B the Barber is at the center of it.

The shop has been accepting Kaspa since June 2023, with regulars already paying in KAS and many more learning about it through Bjartur’s enthusiasm. “Accepting Kaspa is a huge deal to me because it cuts out the third party,” he explained. “It goes really well with my ethos for payment and money, and I see it as a great advancement in technology.”

Kaspa has since become a fixture at the shop. Bjartur streams Kaspa videos daily, has watched every Kaspa Silver upload, and enjoys sharing the project’s progress with customers. For him, it is more than just payments, it is about freedom. As he puts it:

“Kaspa gives you control. Kaspa gives you speed. Kaspa gives you a fair market fee on your transactions. Kaspa lets you be your own bank. What’s better than that?”

Peter agrees, seeing the world in the middle of a paradigm shift, moving away from banking fees and third-party intermediaries toward peer-to-peer money.

Both keep a close eye on Kaspa’s development. They praised the flawless Crescendo launch and are excited about what is on the horizon, including Layer 2, MEV resistance, oracles, DAGKnight, and more. “Kaspa is leading the way,” Bjartur said. “There are so many exciting things to come.” Peter added, “I sleep like a baby. I don’t really care about the price. I know what I hold, and I know the devs are busy developing the system.”

Chad highlighted the bigger picture: “Kaspa’s main vision is to be peer to peer digital cash.”

He later added, “Merchants all over the world are ambassadors, evangelists really, and that’s super important.”

Bjartur himself embraces that pioneer spirit, testing Kaspa technology for everything from hotels to gift cards. Both he and Peter emphasized not only the innovation of Kaspa, but also the strength of its community.

XXIM Podcast - Vivoor

The most recent upload from the XXIM podcast includes a deep dive with Andrew and Alberto from the KRC20 project, Kasper the Ghost. Beyond their work on Kasper, the team is also building Proof of Works, the L2 explorer DAGScan, and the decentralized streaming platform Vivoor.

Andrew kicked things off with a live demo of DAGScan. When switching between Layer 2 networks, the explorer updates in real time to reflect the corresponding DEXs, tokens, and other data. The platform is already live with the Kaplex L2 Testnet, and the team is actively working on integrating the Igra Labs Caravel testnet, with plans to add Sparkle once it launches. The first dApp integrated was Zealous Swap, and Andrew emphasized that DAGScan combines the utility of a traditional block explorer with analytics, providing everything users need to know about Kaspa’s L2s.

The conversation then shifted to Proof of Works, a platform that lets users personalize their on-chain identity with custom profile images, names, and photos. It also serves as a hub where users can discover, share, and own on-chain videos, 3D models, and audio tracks — all built on Kaspa. Andrew took a moment to highlight the growing Kaspa movement in Nigeria, giving special recognition to the recent TEDx event where Kaspa was shared with a wider audience.

For the exclusive portion of the episode, the team unveiled their upcoming livestreaming platform Vivoor, which Andrew described as “Kaspa’s own Twitch.” While built on Kaspa, Vivoor is designed for all of Web3, not just Kaspians. The platform is powered by Livepeer, a decentralized protocol created specifically for low-cost, high-quality streaming. Andrew explained that platforms like YouTube or Twitch typically take 30–50% of a streamer’s revenue, whereas Vivoor’s model is anti-spam and fair: users pay a small upfront fee to go live, but keep 100% of their tips.

The podcast is especially worth watching on YouTube, as Andrew walks viewers through a live demo of setting up a stream. The process is simple: click “Go Live,” connect a wallet, and pay a small fee that deters spam accounts. Streamers can also create clips directly from their broadcasts to share across social media platforms.

To drive broader adoption, the team has decided to use the KAS token for Vivoor rather than their own KASPER token.

Andrew closed the interview with a message to the community:

“I hope everyone enjoys this platform. I hope you guys have fun streaming, playing games, tipping each other, creating and posting clips on X, and just sharing the platform in general. Every bit of support truly matters a lot to us. We appreciate anyone who uses this platform or simply enjoys watching a streamer. It’s a great honor for us to create something like this.”

XXIM Podcast - Kaskad

On another recent XXIM podcast episode, Ankit sat down with Jack, Eliott, and Julien from the Kaskad team to discuss their vision for building a lending and borrowing platform on Kaspa. The team believes Kaspa’s architecture makes it the ideal network for Web3 applications, and they see their project as a key step toward unlocking its potential.

For Julien, stablecoins were the driving motivation behind Kaskad. He emphasized the importance of creating a secure platform for storing large amounts of value. Julien brings significant technical experience to the project, having founded 10H11.com in 2011, a company focused on collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data. Much of the 10H11 research team has now joined forces with Kaskad.

Eliott’s path into crypto started in academia. He completed his master’s thesis with Yonatan Sompolinsky on oracles, and later realized traditional banking wasn’t for him after a short six-month stint in the industry. With a grant from the Kaspa Ecosystem Fund (KEF), Eliott now splits his time between theoretical research and hands-on development work with Kaskad.

Jack came into the picture through his long-standing friendship with Julien. After leaving real estate in 2021, he immersed himself in DeFi during the “DeFi summer,” working with farming and DEX projects. By 2022, Julien introduced him to Kaspa, and the pieces fell into place.

Beyond the core trio, the Kaskad team is committed to transparency and being fully doxxed. Key members include Quentin, one of Kaspa’s earliest miners; Anton, a systems engineer focused on security; Pierrick, a back-end developer; and Marius, who handles front-end development.

When evaluating crypto projects, the team shared the parameters they look for: legitimate scientific whitepapers, doxxed teams, fair launches, and strong token utility. Eliott added that while he once viewed crypto as gambling, his perspective changed after encountering Kaspa’s research-driven ethos and thought leadership from the core team.

So what makes Kaskad unique? The team recognizes that simply forking Aave isn’t enough. They aim to leverage Oracle technology, incentivize user behavior, and ensure their platform makes a meaningful contribution to the Kaspa ecosystem. With Ethereum hosting around 50 lending platforms and Solana roughly ten, Kaskad aims to offer something differentiated—backed by game theory, education, and a long-term plan for DAO governance.

As for Layer-2 solutions, the team is exploring both Kasplex and Igra Labs, actively testing to determine the best fit for Kaskad’s needs.

With a mix of academic rigor, technical expertise, and a strong belief in Kaspa’s potential, the Kaskad team is positioning itself to deliver one of the network’s most impactful DeFi applications yet.

Vijay on The Coin Zone

There is still a lot of buzz around BTC vs Kaspa, and it continued this week when former BTC-maxi-turned-Kaspa-enthusiast, Vijay, was interviewed on The Coin Zone.

Vijay is no stranger to finance. With a CFA designation and a strong background in the industry, he has long understood that crypto represents a revolution in the financial system. Like many others, he initially fell deep into the Bitcoin maxi mindset, where he believed BTC was flawless simply because influential voices, such as Michael Saylor, said so. At one point, he even sold his rental properties to invest exclusively in Bitcoin.

But over time, studying Kaspa reshaped his perspective—not only on BTC, but on crypto as a whole. He highlighted the years of research Yonatan Sompolinsky devoted to developing Kaspa’s architecture, and explained why its technology surpasses Bitcoin. With parallel block processing and rapid block times, transactions confirm in just seconds.  Vijay also noted that all the FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) he has encountered about Kaspa has proven false.

Vijay also raised concerns about Bitcoin’s future security model. Lightning Network transactions don’t support miners, and without sustainable incentives, BTC may face challenges with its security budget down the road. In contrast, Kaspa continues rewarding miners directly while producing secure, high-throughput blocks at the base layer.

He believes Kaspa has solved the blockchain trilemma:

  • Decentralization – Miners are rewarded without needing to rely on large pools.

  • Security – The base layer generates numerous blocks for resilience.

  • Scalability – Fast block times and parallelism support real-world use cases.

Vijay acknowledges that Kaspa is still 1,000x smaller than Bitcoin, but sees that as an opportunity. His message to BTC maxis is simple: understand Bitcoin’s limitations, and avoid the trap of believing everything besides BTC is worthless. Since publicly supporting Kaspa, Vijay has been receiving daily messages from former Bitcoin maxis who are now buying into Kaspa themselves.

On whether or not it is smarter to concentrate or diversify his assets, he shared a saying from financial planning: “Concentration builds wealth, diversification preserves wealth.” He emphasized that it depends on where you are in life and your risk tolerance, but if you choose to concentrate on an asset, you need to be confident in it.

The Kaspa community is grateful to have Vijay as an active voice in the ecosystem. You can follow his insights and updates on X at @VijayKailash.

Kasia Messaging Updates

Kasia Messaging, the decentralized, encrypted peer-to-peer messaging platform built on top of Kaspa, has launched its Android Private tests.

Zealous Swap Updates

Zealous Swap is on the move! Their Beta 10 has just launched on the Kasplex testnet, bringing memberships tailored for market makers and high-frequency traders. The update also delivers performance tweaks and a round of bug fixes as they gear up for mainnet.

Now that Igra Labs’ Caravel testnet is up and running, ZealousSwap has boosted its faucet rewards. Users can grab 20 iKAS to use on the Igra Labs’ testnets through the faucet: KAS Faucet. Additionally, users can still receive testnet KAS to use on the Kasplex testnet and come back every twenty-four hours for more testnet tokens. Developers have access to the network via RPC at https://caravel.igralabs.com:8545 with Chain ID 19416.

Kurncy Wallet Upcoming Release

Kurncy Wallet is rolling out accounts management in its upcoming update. With this enhancement, users can generate multiple Kaspa addresses from a single mnemonic seed through HD wallets. Any new or imported wallet created with a mnemonic will automatically appear under the Accounts section, streamlining organization and usability. Existing users will also have the option to seamlessly migrate their current mnemonic-based wallets into the new Accounts system.

New Block Explorer for Kaspa L2 - DagScan

DagScan is the new one-stop shop to find information about all things Kaspa L2. Currently, the default network is Kasplex, with Igra Labs coming soon.

The new Dapps page allows users to see which projects are live or in testing, while also tracking platform volume, pools, and tokens. Zealous Swap and LFG.kaspa are fully integrated, with additional L2 dApps expected soon. The Tokens page provides real-time, on-chain data for verified tokens, including supply and other key metrics, with the ability to sort and search for deeper insights. Users can search by DEX, Lending, NFT, Bridge, Gaming, and DeFi platforms.

Together, these updates position DagScan as a central hub for transparency and discovery across Kaspa L2, giving both builders and enthusiasts a clear view of what’s live, what’s reliable, and what’s on the horizon. Follow their progress on X at @DagScanXYZ.
